The Earth and the Solar System. Projects

This year we have asked for a new challenge to the students, which consisted of a work of several subjects (Geography, Biology and English) as part of the integrated curriculum
The thing was to elaborate a poster about The Earth and the Solar System and which would deal with the following points: Geocentric and heliocentric theories, celestial bodies, planets of the Solar System (differentiating between rocky and gaseous), Earth movements, eclipses and Man and the Universe.
This is the result of all of my 1º ESO students groups.

Solar System projects

This year, I proposed to my 1 ESO bilingual students explain the Solar System (obviously in English). To do this work, they could help themselves with drawings, videos, models, etc.
They have been working seriously in groups of three or four people and the result has exceeded any forecast planned. Also you spoke some English (which was what I wanted) and so you will lose the fear of speaking.
I am really impressed.
This is the result of the experience.
Congratulations to all of you.

Pale Blue Dot

PaleBlueDot

The Pale Blue Dot is a photograph of planet Earth taken in 1990 by the Voyager 1 spacecraft from a record distance of about 6 billion kilometers from Earth, as part of the solar system Family Portrait series of images. In the photograph, Earth is shown as a tiny dot (0.12 pixel in size) against the vastness of space. The Voyager 1 spacecraft, which had completed its primary mission and was leaving the Solar System, was commanded by NASA to turn its camera around and to take a photograph of Earth across a great expanse of space, at the request of Carl Sagan.

This is an animated version of Carl Sagan's famous audio-text about The Earth, pale blue dot
